Position: Technical Sales Engineer - EMEA
Location: This position will cover EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa).
The Technical Sales Engineer (TSE) – EMEA role involves close interaction with Business Development, Sales, Product Marketing, Engineering, and most importantly, service providers in EMEA directly. The TSE has responsibility for gathering in-depth system level customer inputs through direct engagements as well as presenting detailed system level requirements to the Engineering and Marketing teams. The TSE conducts technical training and on-site product installations, and works closely with Business Development to communicate the value and benefits of new features and capabilities of Entone’s range of products. The position requires the TSE to work hand-in-hand with customers in their lab environment to test and evaluate Entone’s technology and to identify new prospects within the region. The TSE must possess good written and verbal communication skills; multiple languages are an advantage, and work well both alone, and in a team environment. This position will require extensive travel throughout EMEA.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- With direction from the Vice President of Business Development , the successful candidate will work directly with lab engineers and system architects from service providers and strategic customers to understand their system requirements, explain details of Entone’s technology, and determine the optimal way to apply our technology to solve customer challenges.
- Develop system level architectural documents outlining detailed elements of customer requirements and map those requirements to Entone’s technology and products.
- Represent customers’ technical needs in new product development, and work closely with Marketing and Engineering to translate customer requirements into effective development programs.
- Spend time with customers in lab and field trials, with an objective to obtain technology approval through successful testing and immediate resolution of any lab or field issues that occur.
- Keep current and knowledgeable of industry trends to identify the direction of product development.
- Research new market segments and applications for Entone’s technology to drive future revenue growth and product diversification.
- Provide key competitive information to the marketing group to ensure all responsible parties are aware of the advantages and disadvantages of our current and potential future ICs and customer enablement tools.
- Educate service providers’ technical decision makers and lab personnel on Entone’s technology.
- Provide technical training to customers Entone’s regional partners and Systems integrators.

Specific skills required and an in-depth knowledge of the following:
- Strong system level knowledge of Service Provider offerings including: Broadband (xDSL, xPON, FTTx), IPTV and VoIP
- Strong system level knowledge of Service Provider services including: Digital TV, VoIP, and High Speed Data Services
- Understanding of Set-Top Box architectures
- High performance networking, preferably in FTTH and/or DSL technologies
- Very strong network troubleshooting and isolation techniques
- Specific networking experience with standard based protocols: TCP/IP, UDP, IP, IGMPv2, IGMPv3, VoIP, QoS, ToS, DSCP Ethernet, 802.1p/q, 802.11a/b/g/ n
- Strong understanding of network management: SNMP, TR-069
- Windows and UNIX based operating systems
- Compilers, emulators, assemblers, debuggers
- Experience with digital video systems including SDTV, HDTV, and MPEG systems
- Embedded data networking interface designs, having knowledge of data networking ASIC interface requirements and data bus architectures.
